In the first incident, which took place in the Kotahena police division, a young man was severely attacked with edged weapons by unidentified assailants following an altercation. Although he was rushed to the Colombo National Hospital in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission.

Simultaneously, local police in Yakkalamulla reported another violent assault involving sharp weapons that claimed the life of an individual in the area. Initial assessments suggest personal disputes may have triggered the altercation, though motives remain under active verification.
