Two killed, 4 injured in multi-vehicle crash at Mattakkuliya

A major traffic accident occurred in Mattakkuliya when multiple vehicles collided in rapid succession along a busy thoroughfare, resulting in two fatalities and injuries to four other passengers and bystanders.

Local residents and emergency response personnel arrived quickly at the scene to assist in extricating trapped victims from the wreckage. The injured individuals were promptly transported to the National Hospital of Sri Lanka in Colombo, where several remain under emergency medical observation.

Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading up to the collision, including checking for excessive speed, vehicle malfunctions, or hazardous road conditions. Traffic along the affected corridor was temporarily disrupted before the damaged vehicles were cleared from the roadway.
