Akalanka Peiris Wins Third Consecutive Victorian State Swimming Championship

Sri Lankan national swimmer Akalanka Peiris has secured the Victorian State Championship title in the Men’s 50m Backstroke, continuing his strong run of form in Australia.
Peiris clocked an impressive 24.63 seconds in the event, finishing just 0.11 seconds outside his own Sri Lankan national record.
The victory marks Peiris’ third consecutive Victorian State Champion title, further underlining his standing as one of the leading backstroke swimmers competing on the Australian circuit.
Based in Australia for training and competition, Peiris has continued to produce strong performances while representing Sri Lanka at international level. His latest achievement adds to a growing list of successes as he builds toward major upcoming competitions.
His next major target will be the Australian Nationals in October, where he is expected to compete against some of the country’s strongest swimmers while continuing his preparations for future international meets.
