Sri Lanka Media XI Clinch Friendly Against India Media XI

Sri Lanka Media XI secured a seven-wicket victory over India Media XI in a friendly cricket match played at the St. Benedict’s College Ground in Colombo on Friday.

India Media XI, after winning the toss and electing to bat, made 101 runs from their allotted 12 overs in a rain-affected innings.

S. Malhotra top-scored for the Indian side with 41 off 33 balls, hitting eight fours, while S. Banerjee contributed 22 off 17 deliveries.

For Sri Lanka Media XI, Dinesh Upendra, Chamila Karawita and Andrew Fernando picked up a wicket each, while Souran Roy was run out.

In reply, Sri Lanka Media XI raced to 102 for three in just 10.1 overs to complete the seven-wicket victory.

Damith Weerasinghe led the chase with an unbeaten 60 off 31 balls, smashing seven fours and three sixes. He reached his half-century off just 30 deliveries.

Azzam Ameen remained unbeaten on 12 off 10 balls and joined Weerasinghe to guide Sri Lanka Media XI home after the side had slipped to 51 for three.
