Sri Lankan Spirit Shines at Olympic House as Rumesh Tharanga Meets Lilamani De Zoysa

A special Sri Lankan moment unfolded at Olympic House as athlete Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage met with accomplished sports administrator Ms. Lilamani De Zoysa, bringing a warm connection from home to the heart of the Olympic Movement.
The memorable meeting was made possible through Ms. De Zoysa’s support, following a request from the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka.
A former national table tennis player, De Zoysa has built an impressive career in international sports administration, having held positions with the International Table Tennis Federation and the European Table Tennis Union.
She continues to contribute to the global sporting community, particularly in the areas of women and sport. She currently serves as Co-President of the Lausanne Network for Women in Sport, a Global Board Member of the International Working Group for Women in Sport (IWG) and a UNESCO Consultant on Gender and Sport.
For Rumesh, the encounter was a particularly meaningful one, bringing familiar conversations and a sense of home to Olympic House.
The meeting served as a beautiful reminder of the contribution of Sri Lankans to the international sporting community and the enduring connections that bring the country closer to the global Olympic Movement.
