Saashya Rodrigo PhD Takes Lead Scientific Role at 2026 Global Summit on Learning Support

Sri Lankan-born education researcher Saashya Rodrigo PhD, a former special education teacher, has taken on a key international role as Lead Scientist at the 2026 International Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Association Global Summit.

Rodrigo currently serves as Associate Director of Research and Principal Researcher at the US-based National Center for Learning Disabilities, where she focuses on research and practices that support students with learning and other disabilities.

At the 2026 Global Summit, she led the scientific component of the event, contributing to discussions focused on strengthening educator readiness to effectively support students with disabilities.

Her work reflects a strong focus on connecting research, education policy and classroom practice to improve learning experiences for students with diverse educational needs.

With professional experience spanning special education and research, Rodrigo continues to contribute to international conversations on inclusive education and evidence-based approaches for supporting students with disabilities.
