Justin Greaves Named ICC Men’s Player of the Month for July 2026

West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for July 2026, following a series of outstanding performances with both bat and ball during the month.

Greaves played a key role in crucial ICC World Test Championship matches for the West Indies, contributing to a draw against Sri Lanka and a memorable victory over Pakistan.

His standout performance came against Sri Lanka after the visitors posted a formidable 549/9 declared in the first innings. With the West Indies struggling at 144 for four, Greaves produced a magnificent 180, helping the hosts close in on Sri Lanka’s total while spending valuable time at the crease.

His innings included 14 fours and two sixes and proved crucial in helping the West Indies secure a draw. The result also sealed a 1-0 home Test series victory for the West Indies and earned valuable World Test Championship points.

Greaves’ ability to contribute in both disciplines throughout July highlighted his value as a genuine all-rounder and earned him the monthly ICC recognition.

Reflecting on the achievement, Greaves said the month had been particularly memorable because of the opportunity to perform in front of home supporters.

“I have had a memorable month playing at home, and to have contributed with both bat and ball against Sri Lanka and Pakistan has been particularly special for me,” Greaves said.

He added that impactful performances in Test cricket were achievements he would always cherish, particularly when they came in front of West Indies fans.

Greaves also thanked his teammates and coaching staff for their support and expressed his determination to maintain his form in the months ahead.

“I am pleased to have played my part in some important performances for the team, and I hope I can continue to make meaningful contributions,” he said.
