India Reclaim No.1 Spot in ICC T20I Rankings After Dominant Series Lead Over Zimbabwe

India have surged back to the No.1 position in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings following a commanding performance against Zimbabwe, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ongoing series in Harare.

The reigning ICC Men’s T20 World Cup champions reclaimed the top spot from England, who had briefly overtaken them after a 4-0 series sweep at home. India’s return to the summit underlines their consistency and depth in the shortest format of the game.

In the second T20I, India’s batting unit stepped up in style after the bowlers had set the tone in the series opener, highlighted by a record-breaking knock from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Despite losing two early wickets, India recovered strongly through a crucial 66-run partnership between Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer.

Kishan led the charge with an impressive 81 off 44 balls, anchoring the innings with confidence and control. He was well supported by Iyer, before Tilak Varma accelerated the scoring with a blistering 60 off just 29 deliveries, propelling India to a formidable total.
