Four Women Labourers Killed as Lorry Smashes into Auto in Mancherial

A routine morning commute turned deadly on Monday when a lorry slammed head-on into an autorickshaw ferrying daily-wage workers along National Highway 363 at Naspur.

The sheer force of the impact flung passengers across the roadway. Two women died instantly at the scene, while two others succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to a hospital in Mancherial.

Three other passengers survived the wreck with grievous injuries and remain under medical care.

Authorities identified the four victims as Lakshmi, Soundarya, Sumalatha, and Sonia, all from villages across Mandamarri mandal. They'd set out early Monday, traveling together toward Mancherial for work, only for their journey to end minutes later on the highway.

Labour and Employment Minister G. Vivek Venkataswamy expressed grief over the tragedy, stepping forward with personal financial aid of ₹25,000 for each bereaved family and ₹10,000 for each of the injured survivors.
