EDB organises Sri Lanka’s first-ever national pavilion at Fine Food Australia 2026

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, successfully organised Sri Lanka’s first-ever national pavilion at Fine Food Australia 2026, held from 31 August to 3 September, 2026, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

The landmark participation marked an important step in strengthening Sri Lanka’s presence in the Australian food and beverage market and provided a dedicated platform for Sri Lankan exporters to showcase their products, engage with international buyers and explore new commercial opportunities.

The 90 sqm Sri Lanka Pavilion brought together 12 Sri Lankan food and beverage companies, representing both established exporters and emerging small and medium-sized enterprises. The Pavilion showcased a diverse range of Sri Lankan products, including Ceylon Tea and coffee, Ceylon Cinnamon and spices, coconut-based products, processed foods and beverages, seafood and processed fishery products, bakery products, frozen foods, fruits, rice-based beverages, natural and herbal products and other value-added food products.

Akbar Brothers (Pvt) Ltd, Perera and Sons Bakers (Pvt) Ltd, Link Natural Products (Pvt) Ltd, Coconut Taprobane (Pvt) Ltd, Sobako Products (Pvt) Ltd, Derana Marketing Services (Pvt) Ltd, K & D Foods International (Pvt) Ltd, HJS Condiments Limited, Ocean Foods Manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd, Saya International Tea and Food Exports (Pvt) Ltd, Tradlanka Agricultural Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd, and Ceylon Coco Infresh (Pvt) Ltd represented the Sri Lanka country pavilion.

The Sri Lanka Pavilion was officially inaugurated by the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, together with the EDB officials, Sri Lankan Chamber Associations in Melbourne and the participant companies. Throughout the four-day exhibition, the Pavilion attracted considerable interest from Australian and international importers, distributors, retailers, foodservice operators and other industry professionals. The Sri Lankan companies had the opportunity to present their products, conduct business-to-business discussions, identify potential buyers and explore opportunities for market access, distribution and sourcing partnerships.

The premier trade event provided an important opportunity to promote Sri Lanka’s capabilities in value-added food processing, quality production and sustainably produced food products, while strengthening the visibility of Sri Lankan product identities and brands in the Australian market. The EDB’s first-ever national pavilion at Fine Food Australia was further supported by the participation of other Sri Lankan companies who exhibited independently at the event. The Sri Lanka Pavilion and the independent presence of Sri Lankan companies generated publicity through official institutional channels and social media.

The EDB appreciates the cooperation and support extended by the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, participant exporters and other stakeholders including Sri Lankan Chambers in Melbourne in making Sri Lanka’s national pavilion at Fine Food Australia a successful and meaningful initiative.

The successful completion of the event is expected to contribute towards continuous efforts to expand Sri Lanka’s food and beverage exports to Australia, strengthen business linkages and develop new opportunities for Sri Lankan exporters in the Australian and wider Asia-Pacific markets.

The EDB will continue to facilitate market development initiatives and international trade fair participation aimed at connecting Sri Lankan exporters with global buyers and creating sustainable opportunities for export growth.
