Dubai’s Global Village Opens 31st Season with Stand-Alone Sri Lankan Pavilion

Dubai’s Global Village officially opens its 31st season today, October 21, bringing a fresh line-up of entertainment, shopping and dining experiences, alongside the return of a stand-alone Sri Lankan pavilion.

The popular seasonal attraction opens to the public at 6pm, with opening-night celebrations featuring a 600-drone show scheduled for 8pm, a choir performance and the colourful Parade of the World.

This season, Global Village will feature 29 pavilions representing more than 90 cultures, offering visitors opportunities to explore international products, traditional crafts, cuisine and cultural performances in one destination. More than 3,000 shopping outlets and over 40,000 shows are planned throughout the season.

Two new pavilions and a new roller coaster are also scheduled to join the entertainment line-up later in the season, adding to the attraction’s range of family-friendly experiences.

For Sri Lankan visitors and expatriate families in the United Arab Emirates, one of the most notable developments is the return of a dedicated Sri Lankan pavilion. During the previous season, Sri Lanka was represented within the Bangladesh pavilion rather than through a separate stand-alone space.

The return of the dedicated pavilion provides an opportunity to showcase Sri Lankan products, culture and heritage to the attraction’s diverse international audience. It also offers Sri Lankan businesses and exhibitors a platform to connect with visitors from different parts of the world.

Global Village has established itself as one of Dubai’s best-known seasonal attractions, bringing together international cultures through shopping, food, live performances and entertainment. Its latest season is expected to continue drawing residents, tourists and families seeking a multicultural leisure experience.

The attraction will operate from 4pm to midnight from Sunday to Wednesday, and until 1am on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays.

With its expanded entertainment programme, international pavilions and the return of Sri Lanka’s stand-alone pavilion, the 31st season offers a fresh opportunity for visitors to experience cultures from around the world while celebrating Sri Lanka’s presence on the international stage.
