Cool Planet’s 20-Year Journey Celebrated Through a Heartfelt Tribute to Its People Millions in Recognition & Gratitude for Long-Serving Employees

More than 1,500 employees come together for a night of recognition, appreciation, and celebration

Colombo, 14 September 2026: Twenty years can be measured in stores, milestones and numbers. But for Cool Planet, its 20-year journey is also measured in the people who have been there along the way.

That spirit took centre stage as more than 1,500 employees from across the Cool Planet Group came together to celebrate the Staff Night, bringing together teams from Cool Planet (Pvt) Ltd, Volt Apparels (Pvt) Ltd, Fosryn International (Pvt) Ltd and the wider retail operations.

One of the highlights of the evening was a special recognition for employees who have completed 10 years or more with the Cool Planet family. In appreciation of their long-standing loyalty and contribution, Cool Planet presented Rs. 1 million in cash prizes each its long-serving employees.

For these employees, the recognition represented more than a milestone. It celebrated years of commitment, shared experiences, changing responsibilities and personal growth alongside the organisation.

Speaking at the event, Managing Director Nassre Nazme said:

“Looking back at 20 years, what means the most to us is the people who have stayed with Cool Planet and grown with us over the years. Some of the employees we recognised tonight have spent more than 10 years of their lives with this company. We have seen them grow, and they have been part of our growth too. Their dedication and loyalty mean a great deal to us, and we wanted to make this celebration especially meaningful for them. As part of tonight’s celebration, we are pleased to recognise our long-serving employees with Rs. 1 million in cash prizes. More than anything, we hope they feel how much their contribution and the years they have given to Cool Planet are truly appreciated.”

The celebration also recognised achievements across the wider organisation, with more than 100 awards presented across different employee recognition categories. The awards acknowledged individual and team contributions across areas including sales, retail operations, customer service, leadership, performance and other key areas of the business.

Cool Planet’s story began in 2006, with a single store and just 17 employees. Today, the organisation has grown to 15 stores across Sri Lanka and a team of more than 1,500 employees.

While the numbers reflect the scale of that growth, the people behind them tell an equally important story. Employees who have spent more than a decade with Cool Planet have witnessed and contributed to its transformation, while newer members of the team continue to bring fresh energy to its next chapter.

The Staff Night brought these different generations of the Cool Planet family together for an evening that celebrated both long-standing loyalty and everyday achievement.

As Cool Planet looks ahead, the celebration served as a timely reminder that behind every store, every customer experience and every milestone are the people who continue to make the journey possible.
