Western Sydney mum who has never owned a car left speechless by life-changing surprise from Sunrise

A Western Sydney mother who has never owned a car was left shaking after receiving a life-changing surprise from Sunrise.

Shantelle was surrounded by loved ones when Sunrise presenter Katie Brown arrived to reveal she had won an all-new Geely EX2.

The overwhelmed mother struggled to find the words to describe what the prize meant to her and her three boys.

“Thank you guys, this is amazing,” she said through tears.

The car has arrived at a particularly important time for Shantelle, who has an injured foot and faces a difficult recovery.

With Shantelle’s foot in a walking boot, Brown carried her down the stairs before helping her reach her new car.

Shantelle’s mother, Sue, said the family had endured considerable hardship and the car had arrived when it was needed most.

“We’ve had so much heartache, she’s been through a lot,” she said.

Sue revealed Shantelle is going to have to have an operation and she will have to learn to walk again.

Brown said the revelation made the emotional surprise even more meaningful.

“We don’t, we never know what homes we’re walking into,” Brown said.

“And I just can’t think of a more deserving person this morning.”
