Vesak? No — Vap Full Moon Poya Dhamma Sermon Held at Homagama Purana Maha Viharaya

A Dhamma sermon organised by officials of the Opposition Leader’s Office was held at Homagama Purana Maha Viharaya to mark Vap Full Moon Poya Day.

The monthly religious programme is organised on every Full Moon Poya Day under the guidance of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, with sponsorship from Attorney-at-Law Sudath Jayasundara, chairman of the Sandaham Pawura Buddhist Organisation.

This month’s sermon was delivered by Venerable Galnave Sugathavihari Thera, chief administrator of the Dhamma Dhura Meditation Centre in Athurugiriya, following the guidance of Venerable Madovita Vajirabuddhi Thera, Chief Sanghanayaka of the Hewagam Korale, Director of Piriven Education and Chief Incumbent of Homagama Purana Maha Viharaya.

A large gathering of Buddhist devotees attended the religious observance.

The programme is part of the Opposition Leader’s Office’s recurring initiative to organise Dhamma sermons on Full Moon Poya Days.
