Two suspects including woman arrested with heroin and 'Ice' in separate raids

Police have apprehended two suspects, including a female suspect, in separate anti-drug operations carried out in the Wellampitiya and Puttalam jurisdictions. The coordinated raids were launched following intelligence reports regarding ongoing local distribution networks.

In the Wellampitiya raid, law enforcement officers recovered a commercial quantity of heroin packaged for distribution, leading to the immediate arrest of the primary suspect. Concurrently, a raid conducted in Puttalam resulted in the seizure of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as 'Ice', along with drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are being held under detention orders for further questioning to uncover supply chains and identify accomplices. Authorities noted that special police operations targeting organized narcotics distribution rings across the island have been intensified.
