Two killed, teenager critically injured in Maligawatte clash over romantic dispute

Two young men were killed and a 16-year-old was left critically injured following a violent clash in Maligawatte, Colombo 10, last night (29).

Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred at around 10:30 PM near a clothing store in Maligawatte, where a heated clash between two groups over a romantic affair escalated into a stabbing.

Three individuals who sustained severe injuries during the clash were rushed to the hospital. Two of the victims identified as 21-year-old Mohamed Abdulla and Mohamed Reihan, both residents of Maligawatte succumbed to their injuries shortly after admission.

The third victim, a 16-year-old boy, is currently receiving emergency treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Colombo National Hospital.

The Maligawatte Police have launched further investigations to apprehend those involved in the attack. (Newswire)
