Two arrested over murder of missing 29‑year‑old man

Police in Thalathuoya have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 29‑year‑old resident of the Bawlana area.

A complaint was lodged on September 7 reporting that the victim had been missing since September 4.

During investigations, Police discovered the burnt body of the missing man in a forested area of Bawlana, confirming it to be a case of homicide.

The suspects, aged 18 and 41, both residents of the same locality, were taken into custody by investigating officers.

Interrogations revealed that the killing stemmed from a personal dispute, during which the victim was assaulted, murdered, and his body set on fire.
