From Train Rides to Millions of Followers: The Sri Lankan Couple Behind Travel with Wife

What began with simple weekend getaways between two Sri Lankans has grown into a thriving travel community inspiring millions to explore the world.

Chamari and Kasun, the couple behind Travel with Wife, have transformed their shared love for travel into a full-time content creation business, building a community of more than 1.7 million followers across social media platforms.

Their journey began long before travel content became their profession. The couple first met while commuting by train and spent their free time taking short trips around Sri Lanka while working regular 9-to-5 jobs.

In 2018, a trip to Diyaluma Falls became a turning point. They uploaded a vlog documenting the experience, and the response encouraged them to explore the possibility of turning their passion for travel into something bigger.

Eventually, Chamari and Kasun made the bold decision to leave their corporate careers and pursue Travel with Wife full-time.

What started as a couple exploring Sri Lanka soon expanded beyond the island, with international journeys, travel guides, photography, videography and collaborations with brands becoming part of their growing business.

Their story took another meaningful turn when their daughter Elina joined the family. Travel with Wife evolved from documenting a travelling couple to sharing the experiences of a travelling family, connecting with a growing audience of parents and family travellers.

Today, Travel with Wife has built a substantial following across multiple platforms, including around 568,000 YouTube subscribers, 598,000 Facebook followers, 296,000 Instagram followers and more than 325,000 TikTok followers.

Through their travel guides, visual storytelling and family adventures, Chamari and Kasun continue to encourage others to discover new destinations and create memories of their own.

And despite everything they have achieved, their long-term dream remains beautifully simple: to travel the whole world as a family.
