Transfers of several high-ranking police officers including SDIG cancelled

The National Police Commission (NPC) announced the immediate cancellation of previously ordered transfers affecting Senior Deputy Inspector General (SDIG) Ranmal Kodituwakku and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Police Narcotics Bureau Ashoka Dharmasena, along with several other senior officers.

The cancellation comes after public and institutional scrutiny regarding administrative changes among top commanders leading sensitive anti-narcotics and security initiatives.

With the revocation of the transfer orders, the senior officials will continue in their current portfolios to ensure continuity in active crime suppression and ongoing investigations.
