Sri Lankan Youth Table Tennis Star Taavi Samaraweera Wins Gold and Bronze in Slovenia

Sri Lankan youth table tennis player Taavi Samaraweera has delivered an outstanding performance at the WTT Youth Contender Otočec 2026 tournament in Slovenia, securing a gold medal in the Under-11 category and a bronze medal in the Under-13 category.

The tournament was held from August 25 to 27 and is an official World Youth Ranking event conducted under the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

Samaraweera’s double-medal achievement marks a significant success on the international stage, highlighting the young player’s talent and potential while bringing further recognition to Sri Lankan youth table tennis.
