Rumesh Tharanga wins Zurich Diamond League Javelin title with 92.07m throw

Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage has secured another major victory on the international athletics stage, winning the men’s javelin throw at the Zurich Diamond League with a remarkable throw of 92.07 metres.
Tharanga produced his winning effort in the final round, once again demonstrating his place among the world’s leading javelin throwers.
Grenada’s Anderson Peters finished second, while Poland’s Dawid Wegner secured third place.
The 92.07m effort marks the second time Tharanga has surpassed the 92-metre mark this year.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed an exceptional 2026 season, having also won the men’s javelin gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.
