Sri Lanka Wins 16 Medals At Maldives Culinary Competition 2026

Sri Lanka’s team of chefs has secured 16 medals at the Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives Culinary Competition 2026, including a first-place finish in the Artistic Showpiece category.
The prestigious international culinary championship was held in Hulhumalé from September 7 to 9, with chefs from more than 15 countries competing across 21 categories covering a wide range of culinary and artistic disciplines.
Chef Nashik Najila delivered a standout performance for Sri Lanka, winning first place in the Artistic Showpiece category.
The Sri Lankan team also impressed the international judging panel with its cake and pastry creations, creative presentations, detailed decorations and structural artistic designs.
Their performances resulted in 5 Gold Medals, 9 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals, highlighting the technical skills and creativity of Sri Lankan chefs.
The achievement adds to Sri Lanka’s growing presence in international culinary competitions, showcasing the expertise, innovation and craftsmanship of the country’s culinary professionals.
The team’s success at the Maldives Culinary Competition 2026 marks another significant achievement for Sri Lanka’s culinary community and brings further international recognition to the country’s chefs.
