Sri Lanka targets 4 million tourists, US$8 billion revenue by 2030

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya revealed that the government has set an ambitious target of attracting four million foreign tourists annually and generating US$8 billion in foreign exchange revenue by 2030.

Outlining the strategy, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of enhancing destination branding, modernising airport infrastructure, and improving service quality across the hospitality sector.

Tourism authorities noted that strategic international campaigns and diversification into eco-tourism, cultural heritage, and wellness travel are expected to accelerate Sri Lanka's post-recovery growth in the coming years.
