Sri Lanka Navy recovers Fast Attack Craft P 4447 after salvage operation

The Sri Lanka Navy has concluded an intensive multi-stage salvage mission, successfully recovering the Fast Attack Craft (FAC) P 4447. The vessel had encountered critical technical distress while conducting routine sea patrol operations off the waters of Angulana on August 15.

Naval divers, specialized salvage teams, and engineering personnel worked in challenging maritime conditions to stabilize the vessel and orchestrate its safe extraction. Advanced recovery gear and coordinated naval support assets were deployed throughout the operation.

Following the recovery, the craft has been transferred to a naval facility for comprehensive damage assessment and technical inspection to ascertain the precise cause of the malfunction and determine necessary repairs.
