Heavy rain above 100mm forecast for six provinces

Heavy rain exceeding 100 mm is expected in several parts of Sri Lanka on Monday (14), as a low-level atmospheric disturbance continues in the vicinity of the island, the Department of Meteorology said.
According to the weather forecast issued at 5:30 a.m., heavy falls above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-central and North-western provinces.
Cloudy conditions are expected over the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces, with showers or thundershowers occurring at times.
The public has been advised to take precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers. (Newswire)
