Sports Minister inspects development work at Dehiwala Kawdana Road Ground

Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage inspected the ongoing development work at the Kawdana Road Ground in Dehiwala on August 28.

The visit was aimed at reviewing the progress of the project, which is being carried out to provide improved sports and physical fitness facilities for youth and residents in the area.

During the inspection, the minister reviewed the current state of the ground and held discussions with officials on the remaining work and future development plans.

Gamage said the shortcomings at the ground would be addressed promptly and the facility opened for public use under the government’s national programme to fully develop sports grounds in rural and urban areas.

MP Samanmalee Gunasinghe, the Mayor of the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council, municipal councillors, local representatives and ministry officials also participated in the inspection. (Newswire)
