Sinhala Deepa National Front Submits Petition Against Geneva Human Rights Commission

Representatives of the Sinhala Deepa National Front staged a silent protest in front of the United Nations office in Colombo today and handed over a memorandum addressed to the UN Secretary-General concerning the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva.

Following the protest, the representatives spoke to the media and outlined their concerns regarding the Human Rights Commission and its activities.

Among those who addressed the media were Jayantha Liyanage, General Secretary of the Sinhala Deepa National Front, and Lanka Tharanga, representing the organisation and its affiliated groups, including the United Alternative and True National Front.

The representatives said the memorandum had been submitted to the United Nations authorities as part of their campaign concerning matters related to the Geneva Human Rights Commission.
