Search continues for missing youth in Kelani River

Search operations are continuing for a 26-year-old youth who went missing after reportedly drowning in the Kelani River in the Pokunugoda area of Mulleriyawa.

The incident occurred yesterday (29) when the youth had gone to the river to bathe.

Mulleriyawa Police, together with the Diving Unit of the Police Marine Division, launched a special operation yesterday to locate the missing man.

The search operation continued for a second consecutive day today (30).

However, authorities said the body had not been recovered so far.
