PM highlights importance of art and culture for a thriving nation and beautiful life

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that art and culture, coupled with unity and mutual understanding, are indispensable for people to lead fulfilling and happy lives within a thriving nation.

Addressing attendees at a cultural gathering, the Prime Minister observed that a nation's prosperity cannot be measured solely by economic parameters, but must also incorporate creative expressions, heritage, and human empathy.

She reiterated the administration's pledge to provide enhanced opportunities for artists, performers, and cultural educators to contribute towards social cohesion and reconciliation across diverse communities.

Dr. Amarasuriya concluded by calling on society to embrace cultural diversity and creative freedom as essential foundations for democratic renewal and spiritual well-being.
