National Action Collective Calls for Transparent Investigation into Anil Bandara's Arrest

The National Action Collective has called for a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the alleged large-scale financial fraud involving an individual identified as Anil Bandara, who has been accused of causing significant damage to Sri Lanka's economy and banking system.

Speaking at a media briefing on November 1, 2026, Tharindu Rathnayake, a representative of the National Action Collective, said complaints against Bandara had been lodged with successive governments and several Inspectors General of Police over a period of approximately six years.

However, he claimed that despite these complaints, the suspect's arrest had been repeatedly delayed.

Rathnayake also raised concerns over alleged financial fraud and unlawful activities involving the collection of money from members of the public through various business names and methods, including one identified as F3C.

The National Action Collective called on the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Attorney General's Department and the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka to work together to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the alleged financial fraud.

The organisation further stressed the need for urgent action to ensure justice for members of the public who had allegedly suffered financial losses.
