Sri Lankan Gem Entrepreneur Mushir Munas Honoured at NextGen Coloured Gem Excellence Awards 2026

Sri Lankan gemstone entrepreneur Mushir Munas, CEO and Co-Founder of Sri Gems, has been named a recipient of the NextGen Coloured Gem Excellence Awards 2026, organised by Jewellery World Awards (JWA).

Munas is the only Sri Lankan recipient among the 18 professionals recognised at this year’s awards, bringing international attention to his journey from Beruwala’s traditional gem trade to building a presence in global gemstone markets.

The recognition highlights Munas’ contribution to the coloured gemstone industry and his work in taking Sri Lankan expertise and gemstones to international markets.

His journey reflects the longstanding importance of Beruwala to Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery sector, while also representing a new generation of entrepreneurs working to expand the country’s presence in the global coloured gemstone industry.

The NextGen Coloured Gem Excellence Awards 2026 recognise emerging professionals making an impact across the coloured gemstone sector, with this year’s honourees representing different markets and areas of the industry.
