GS Evo Motors launches JMEV EWIND electric SUV

GS Evo Motors Limited, the authorised distributor of JMEV electric vehicles in Sri Lanka, has launched the JMEV EWIND, a compact electric SUV featuring advanced technology, performance, comfort and safety features.

The company said the new model is designed to meet the growing demand for electric mobility in Sri Lanka, combining an aerodynamic exterior with a spacious and technology-focused interior.

The EWIND is powered by a single electric motor driving the front wheels, producing up to 108 kW of power and 210 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds.

Depending on the battery configuration, the SUV offers a driving range of up to 610 km under the NEDC test cycle and is equipped with a 70.38 kWh battery.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS, EBD, Electronic Stability Programme, Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection and Lane Keeping Assist.

The vehicle also comes with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, dual-screen digital cockpit and over-the-air software updates.

GS Evo Motors Chief Executive Officer Priyantha Perera said the launch reflected the company’s aim of making advanced electric mobility more accessible to Sri Lankan motorists.

The EWIND is available for viewing and test drives at the GS Evo Motors showroom. It comes with an eight-year or 150,000-km battery warranty and a five-year or 150,000-km vehicle warranty.
