Kotte Sangha Sabha Convenes to Discuss Gnanasara Thera Issue

The Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha has convened to discuss the issue involving Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera.

Speaking on the matter, Ven. Kotapitiye Rahula Thera said the Sangha Sabha had met to consider the situation and would announce its decision at a later date.

He stated that the organisation would maintain its position in support of Gnanasara Thera and emphasised the importance of protecting the Buddhist Sangha, Buddhist civilisation and the country’s Buddhist cultural heritage.

The meeting comes amid public discussion surrounding Gnanasara Thera and concerns over the treatment of Buddhist monks.

The Sangha Sabha is expected to communicate its position following further consideration of the matter.
