Kelly Osbourne addresses weight-loss scrutiny since death of father Ozzy Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne has opened up about the “hardest year” of her life.
In her first interview since losing her father, legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly spoke candidly about the overwhelming grief she’s experienced.
She also shared how body-shaming comments she has received had taken their toll and what it was like adjusting to life as a single parent.
Kelly recently returned to the UK with her three-year-old son Sidney, following her split from former Slipknot band member Sid Wilson.
“It’s been the hardest year of my life,” Kelly told Hello! magazine.
“I’ll never be the person I was before my father died ... a part of me died, too.
“Everything is different. I’m different.
“Everything has changed, but it’s just taking it one day at a time and putting the pieces back together in a way that you think will work.”
Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy died in July last year of a heart attack at the age of 76 and was famously close with his daughter.
Since his passing, Kelly has been open about how she has struggled to deal with the loss.
“I feel unhappy, I am so sad,” Kelly, 40, posted on Instagram the day after her father’s death.
Just days before he died, Kelly had shared a post of Ozzy with his grandson. She previously said the pair were “best friends”.
In the interview with Hello!, Kelly also addressed the constant scrutiny of her body, after her dramatic weight loss prompted endless discussion.
The TV personality admitted she hasn’t dealt well with the attention on her appearance.
“How can you navigate something so cruel when you’re so sick?” Kelly said.
“I’m getting a lot better. I’ve got all the help I need and I’m grateful for the support I have in my life.
“I have this incredible team of people I’ve built around me who are not just my friends, because what you’ll find when you’re grieving is that people don’t know how to handle it, and you do lose a lot of friends.
“But the ones who stick around are the real ones.”
After her appearance at the BRIT Awards in February, some accused Kelly of taking weight-loss drugs and telling her she looked unwell.
Kelly’s mother, Sharon, has spoken out in defence of her daughter, saying she was struggling with the loss of her father and “she can’t eat right now”.
Kelly began dating the former Slipknot DJ and keyboardist in early 2022 and welcomed their son, Sidney, later that year.
While she did not comment on the current state of their relationship, she reiterated that her son remains the focus.
Looking forward, Kelly said she is learning to look after herself again, one step at a time.
“You’ve got to fix the head before you can fix the body,” Kelly told Hello!.
“It’s a slow process. It’s going to take me a minute. I’m not going to be fixed in a day.
“I’m not going to be fixed in one therapy session.
“This is a lifetime of work I’ve got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life.”
While she has faced some cruel comments from strangers, Kelly also thanked the members of the public who were a lifeline for her family after Ozzy’s death.
“Every note, every flower, every gift that was sent to us – we received, we read, we acknowledged, and the people we could find the time to write back to and thank, we did.
“It showed us that they loved him as much as he loved them. Because he really did.”
