Jonathan Alles Appointed Chairman of Singer Finance

Singer Finance (Lanka) PLC has appointed Jonathan Alles as Chairman of its Board of Directors, following the conclusion of Aravinda Perera’s tenure.

Alles joined the Board of Singer Finance in March 2026 and brings more than 37 years of experience in banking and financial services. His career includes senior leadership roles at international banking institutions such as HSBC, the British Bank of the Middle East, Saudi British Bank and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi.

A prominent figure in Sri Lanka’s financial services sector, Alles has previously served as Chairman of the Sri Lanka Banks Association and the Asian Bankers Association. He has also held governance and board positions across several leading Sri Lankan companies and financial institutions.

He currently serves on the boards of Hayleys PLC, Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC, Vallibel One PLC, Lion Brewery Ceylon PLC, Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC, United Motors Lanka PLC, Alumex PLC, The Kingsbury PLC and Laugfs Holdings Ltd.

Singer Finance acknowledged the leadership and contribution of outgoing Chairman Aravinda Perera, under whose tenure the company continued to strengthen its market position and advance its growth ambitions.

As a subsidiary of Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC and part of the wider Hayleys Group, Singer Finance will enter its next phase of development under Alles’ leadership, supported by the strength and experience of two established Sri Lankan corporate groups.
