Himashi Hapangama Honoured With Distinguished Trailblazer Award 2026

Sri Lankan reproductive medicine and genetics specialist Himashi Ruwanthika Hapangama has been honoured with the Distinguished Trailblazer Award 2026 in recognition of her contribution to reproductive medicine and healthcare.

With more than a decade of experience in reproductive medicine and genetics, Hapangama has supported over 450 families on their journey to parenthood and has played a key role in advancing Pre-implantation Genetic Testing (PGT) in Sri Lanka.

She currently serves as Chief Embryologist at Asiri Hospitals Holdings PLC, where she continues to contribute her expertise to the field of assisted reproductive medicine.

The award was presented at the Oxford College of Business Graduation Ceremony 2026, held under the theme “Crowned in Knowledge,” recognising her professional achievements and contribution to the healthcare sector.

Hapangama’s work reflects the growing role of advanced reproductive technologies and genetics in supporting individuals and families seeking fertility care in Sri Lanka.
