Former MP Tissa Kuttiarachchi Summoned over Investigation into Source of Wealth

Speaking to the media, Kuttiarachchi said investigators had called him in to inquire into how he financed the construction of his house.

He alleged that the summons was politically motivated and accused the authorities of targeting him and others for political reasons.

Addressing President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the former MP criticised the country’s current situation and declared that the Opposition would seek to remove the government and establish a new administration.

Kuttiarachchi also referred to what he described as the “323 containers” issue, saying that if the Opposition returned to power, it would focus on questions surrounding the containers rather than matters such as refrigerators or washing machines.

He further made strong remarks about the possibility of being imprisoned, declaring that he would continue his political struggle even if he were jailed.
