Court Order Served on Buddhist Monks Protesting Outside Presidential Secretariat

A court order was served on Buddhist monks staging a protest outside the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo Fort at noon today.

Fort Police had obtained the court order seeking to prevent the protest, citing the high-security status of the area surrounding the Presidential Secretariat.

After the order was read out, it was formally handed over to the monks.

The monks were still present at the protest site at the time of reporting.
