Commercial Bank of Ceylon has once again been recognised as Sri Lanka’s Strongest Banking Brand, reaffirming its position as one of the country’s most valuable and trusted financial brands.
The recognition comes from Brand Finance’s newly released “100 Most Valuable Brands 2026” report, which also ranks Commercial Bank as the second most valuable brand in Sri Lanka overall.
The Bank’s brand value increased to Rs. 54.9 billion, marking a significant 17.8% rise from Rs. 46.6 billion recorded in the previous year.
Commercial Bank also achieved a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 87 out of 100 and retained its prestigious AAA brand strength rating. Its positions in both brand value and strength remained unchanged from the previous year, reflecting continued consistency and resilience.
Commenting on the achievement, Commercial Bank Managing Director/CEO Sanath Manatunge said the recognition reflects the strength, stability and trust associated with the Bank, while highlighting the confidence placed in it by customers and other stakeholders.
The Bank said its brand strength is built not only through strategic communications but also through long-standing relationships with customers and communities across Sri Lanka. Its relationship officers, branch teams and Agriculture & Micro Finance Unit staff play a key role in maintaining these connections.
