Civil Intelligence Front Raises Allegations of Rs. 9 Billion Financial Fraud Linked to Nation Lanka

Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo, Civil Intelligence Front Chairman Sanjaya Mahawatta alleged that Singha Capital had been presented as the parent company of Nation Lanka, despite allegedly not being registered with the Central Bank.

Mahawatta claimed that approximately Rs. 9 billion may have been involved in the alleged financial irregularities. He said some investors had reportedly been attracted by the trust they placed in the Nation Lanka name.

He also urged the public to exercise caution and avoid being misled by promotional officers offering investment opportunities. Mahawatta further alleged that several individuals were behind the transactions and called attention to the concerns raised by those affected.

According to Mahawatta, individuals who claim to have suffered losses in connection with Nation Lanka have initiated civil legal proceedings.

A staff member from Nation Lanka’s Matara branch also spoke at the briefing, describing the situation as a major deception and raising questions about whether events had unfolded as previously stated in court.

The allegations made at the media briefing have not been independently verified. The information provided did not include responses from Nation Lanka, Singha Capital or the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. The reported amount and the companies’ regulatory status should be confirmed through official records.
