Buddhist Monks End Protest Outside Presidential Secretariat Following Court Order

Buddhist monks have ended their protest outside the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo after remaining at the site since last night.

The monks decided to leave the area following a court order served by police at noon today.

Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thera commented on the decision to end the protest.

The group subsequently announced that they would proceed to the area outside the Fort Magistrate’s Court.

The monks then left the protest site outside the Presidential Secretariat and dismantled and removed their tents themselves.
