Baby boy dies with ‘significant’ injuries in alleged domestic violence murder in Queensland

A three-month-old baby boy has died of internal injuries in a Queensland hospital after an alleged domestic violence incident. A 28-year-old man known to the baby has now been charged with murder – domestic violence against a child, Queensland Police said on Wednesday. The baby was brought to an Ipswich Hospital with significant internal injuries last Thursday. “The three-month-old boy was later transferred to a Brisbane hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries yesterday afternoon,” police said on Wednesday. Detectives from the Ipswich Child Protection Investigation Unit, with assistance from the Child Trauma Unit, arrested the 28-year-old man at an Ipswich address on Tuesday night.
The alleged murderer will face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Investigations are ongoing.
