Aluth Piyapath Organisation Stages Protest Outside Fort Railway Station Against Corruption and ‘Old Political Culture’

The Aluth Piyapath Organisation held a protest outside Fort Railway Station under the slogan “Dressed in White, Walking in Black”, opposing what it described as corrupt politics and attempts by the opposition to obstruct the government's progress.

The protest highlighted several demands, including preventing the country from moving backwards, ensuring justice and equal application of the law, and rejecting the return of the old, corrupt political culture.

The demonstrators also called for preventing the resurgence of racial and religious extremism and building a country free from fraud, corruption, drug trafficking, underworld crime and political privileges.

Before the protest began, three individuals wearing masks or costumes depicting Namal Rajapaksa, Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sajith Premadasa walked around Fort Railway Station. They displayed placards carrying messages such as “The Country and Nation Are in Danger,” “Stop Political Revenge,” and “The Country’s Economy Is in Danger.”

Following this, members of the Aluth Piyapath Organisation proceeded with their protest outside Fort Railway Station, reiterating their opposition to what they described as corrupt political practices and efforts to obstruct the government's agenda.
