Ai-CHA expands Lankan footprint with new Negombo outlet
· Sri Lanka
Indonesian soft-serve ice cream and bubble tea brand Ai-CHA has expanded its presence in Sri Lanka with the opening of its latest franchise outlet on Main Street, in Negombo, adding to the brand’s growing network in the country.
Ai-CHA, known for its affordable soft-serve ice cream, milk teas, fruit teas and other beverages, has rapidly expanded since it was founded in Indonesia, in 2019, by the Lie brothers.
The brand says it now operates more than 2,000 outlets worldwide through a combination of company-owned and franchise stores, establishing a growing presence across Southeast Asia and other international markets.
The new Negombo outlet is the latest addition to Ai-CHA’s Sri Lankan operations, which already include outlets at 209, Highlevel Road, Wattegedara Road, Maharagama, and 125 Boralesgamuwa.
Ai-CHA’s product range includes its signature soft-serve ice cream, marketed as “Ai-Scream”, along with milk teas, real fruit teas and a variety of cold and refreshing beverages. The brand has positioned its offerings as affordable treats aimed at a broad customer base.
Since its launch in Indonesia, Ai-CHA has sought to distinguish itself in the competitive tea and ice cream market through a combination of budget-friendly pricing, distinctive flavours and contemporary product concepts.
The company’s expansion through franchise outlets has helped drive its international growth, with the brand saying its network of more than 2,000 stores reflects both the strength of its franchise model and growing customer demand.
In Sri Lanka, the brand is operated by AI-CHA FOOD LK (PVT) LTD, with its head office located at Level 13, Maga One, No. 200, Nawala Road, Narahenpita, Colombo 05.
With the opening of the Negombo outlet, Ai-CHA is looking to further strengthen its foothold in Sri Lanka while bringing its range of soft-serve ice creams, bubble teas and fruit-based beverages to a wider customer base.
