Mast. R. Jaihari, a promising young swimmer from the Aquatic Sports Squad of St. Benedict’s College, Colombo 13, has achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a Cholan Book of World Records achievement in the Under-7 Boys’ 50m Breaststroke.

Jaihari recorded a time of 1 minute, 2 seconds and 38 microseconds during a special record-attempt programme held at the St. Benedict’s College Aquatic Sports Centre.

The record attempt was officially adjudicated and witnessed by representatives of the Cholan Book of World Records, including Captain (Retd.) Indranath Perera, General Secretary; Mr. Sri Nagawani Rajah, Vice President; and Major Dilan Jayasundara, Ex-Co Member of the Sri Lanka Branch of CBWR.

Jaihari has been training under the College Aquatic Sports Centre Coaching Team comprising Mr. Kasun de Silva, Mr. Harsha Kumara and Mr. Hiran Jayasena. Their guidance and dedicated coaching have played an important role in developing the young swimmer's skills.

Teachers from the Primary and Upper School, Jaihari’s parents and family members, well-wishers, staff of the College Aquatic Sports Centre and members of the College Aquatic Sports Squad were also present to witness the achievement.

The milestone marks a proud moment for St. Benedict’s College and its Aquatic Sports Centre, while highlighting the importance of dedication, disciplined training and strong support in nurturing young sporting talent.
