Woman arrested in Rathmalana with illicit liquor worth Rs. 1.6 mln

A woman has been arrested by officers of the Mount Lavinia Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau while in possession of 120,000 millilitres of illicit liquor valued at approximately Rs. 1.6 million.

The suspect, a 31-year-old woman, is a resident of Perera Mawatha in the Koralawella area of Moratuwa.

The arrest was made at Rathmalana Beach under the direct supervision and direction of the Officer-in-Charge of the Mount Lavinia Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau.

She is scheduled to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court.
