Western Province North Crime Division Seizes Weapons and Two Kilograms of Heroin

Acting on information received by the Western Province North Crime Division in Peliyagoda, officers searched a house in the Webada area of Kadawatha. During the search, they seized five locally manufactured T-kattha-type firearms capable of firing T-56 ammunition, two Galkattha-type firearms capable of firing 12-bore cartridges, two pairs of handcuffs, more than 600 rounds of ammunition, and two kilograms of heroin. One individual was also arrested in connection with the incident.

The suspect was produced before the Kadawatha Magistrate’s Court, and a detention order was obtained.

Further investigations are being carried out by the Peliyagoda Western Province North Crime Division.
