Vietjet Named Asia’s Leading Airline Brand 2026

Vietnamese airline Vietjet has been named “Asia’s Leading Airline Brand 2026” at the World Travel Awards ceremony held in the Maldives, marking another milestone in the airline’s international expansion.

The latest recognition adds to Vietjet’s record at the World Travel Awards, following three consecutive titles as Asia’s Leading Airline: Customer Experience in 2023, 2024 and 2025, as well as Asia’s Leading Airline Rewards Programme in 2024.

The award recognises Vietjet’s brand development across passenger services, competitive fares, product offerings and its expanding international network. The airline is also transitioning towards a hybrid airline model, with a focus on enhancing the overall passenger experience.

Vietjet CEO Nguyen Thanh Son said the airline is entering a new phase of growth as it develops a broader portfolio of products, services and experiences while expanding its global footprint.

According to Brand Finance, Vietjet’s brand value increased by 117% to US$906 million in 2026, placing the airline among the world’s 50 most valuable airline brands for the first time.

During the first six months of 2026, Vietjet carried more than 13.4 million passengers across 72,000 flights on a network of 213 routes, comprising 46 domestic and 167 international services.

The airline has continued expanding its international network, including new routes to Sri Lanka, Japan, the Philippines, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.

Vietjet launched its direct Colombo–Ho Chi Minh City service on August 18, 2026, providing a direct connection between Sri Lanka and Vietnam for the first time.

The airline said Sri Lanka is now part of its growing network as it continues to expand its presence across Asia and into international markets.
