University of Colombo Enters Global Top 500 in Clinical Medicine and Public Health

The University of Colombo has achieved another international milestone, with Clinical Medicine and Public Health both ranked in the 401–500 global band in the 2026 ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.

The recognition highlights the university’s contribution to medical education, research and public health, including work in clinical medicine, disease prevention, epidemiology, healthcare innovation and public health policy.

Through its medical and public health programmes, the university continues to contribute to research and knowledge aimed at improving healthcare services and population well-being.

ShanghaiRanking evaluates universities using indicators including research quality and impact, academic publications, world-class faculty and international research collaboration.

The latest rankings highlight the University of Colombo’s growing international research presence in key healthcare disciplines and its contribution to advancing medical and public health knowledge in Sri Lanka.
