Tug-of-War Events Conclude at the 50th National Sports Festival

The tug-of-war events of the 50th National Sports Festival concluded after two days of competition at the Torrington Stadium in Colombo.

Teams representing all nine provinces of Sri Lanka competed in both the men’s and women’s events.

In the women’s final, the Western Province competed against the Sabaragamuwa Province, with Western Province securing the championship title. Sabaragamuwa Province finished as runners-up, while Central Province secured third place.

In the men’s final, the North Central Province faced the Southern Province. North Central Province emerged victorious, while Southern Province finished as runners-up. Uva Province secured third place.

The presentation of trophies and awards also took place following the competitions.

The 50th National Sports Festival is being conducted under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Department of Sports Development.
